Roles I'm looking for

I'm open to staff and senior engineering roles where I can shape how a product's front end is built, from design systems and component libraries to UI architecture, accessibility, internationalization, and performance. I do my best work as a hands-on technical leader: setting direction, building core pieces myself, reviewing code, and helping the people around me grow. I'm also open to engineering management when the mission is a strong fit.

I'm looking for a fully remote, async-friendly team that values clear writing, thoughtful documentation, and the trust to work autonomously across time zones. I want to join a diverse, inclusive culture where people of every background can do their best work, and where honest conversations about scope and trade-offs are welcome. I care about quality, and I thrive on teams that treat accessibility and craft as core parts of the product. Contract engagements

I take on contract work for engineering and product teams. These are the most common engagements.

Design systems

Build a new design system or bring an existing one up to date, including design tokens, components, documentation, and a plan for adoption across teams. I built the CSS design system for the new Firefox.com and a React Native design system for Climate Central's apps on iOS, Android, and web.

AI-ready component libraries

Component libraries that developers and AI coding agents can both use correctly, with narrow typed APIs, intent-based tokens, usage rules next to the code, and machine-readable manifests.

Accessibility

Audits against WCAG 2.2, fixes, and accessibility built into shared components, so every product that uses them benefits.

Front-end performance

Measure what slows your product down, then fix it, from CSS architecture and bundle size to rendering and image delivery.

CI/CD and developer tooling

Faster, safer releases through automated testing and build pipelines. At NASA Worldview, I cut release cycles from 2 to 3 weeks to 15 to 30 minutes.

Data visualization and maps

Interactive visualizations and map-based tools that make complex data understandable, built for Climate Central, NASA, and the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team.

Internationalization

Interfaces that work across languages, scripts, and locales, planned into components from the start.

Technical leadership

Leading front-end work on a team, setting architecture direction, reviewing code, and mentoring developers.
